On Childhood Dreams

I love this video because it shows the power of childhood dreams. Like him, I am also blessed with parents who allowed me to discover my potentials as a kid.

They enrolled me into art classes (although I did not become a professional artist). They enrolled me to chess class (although I became really good at chess strategy and tactics, have yet to win my first medal). They enrolled me to music school to learn the basics of playing the guitar (although I've been to a lot of gigs and have composed a lot of songs, having an album at this point in time seems highly improbable).

But above it all, all these experiences did not come to waste. It shaped me to become who I am now

The guy in this video is correct. You can't lose either way. It is a win-win situation. "Experience is you get when you don't get what you want."
The highest reward for man's toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it. -  John Ruskin.

talk about childhood dreams, i had really weird dreams as a child LOL like i wanted to go the moon, discover if there is life in mars, and if pluto is indeed the last and farthest planet in the solar system. i've always suspected that there is life somewhere outside the milky way hahahaha! i was really weird, and i still am :)

you are one lucky son then. as parents I think that's the best thing you can do for your kids. to provide them life skills so that their choices in the future will not be limited. very empowering yan. The worse thing that could happen to a person is to grow up and realize that he is powerless to do things.....

@chi, sometimes i want to be an Eeyore (tama ba spelling?) feeling ko walang sense din pag masaya palagi.

True. I think the worst feeling in the world is not regret at doing something, but regret at not doing something.

@glentot, isa sa mga pinakanereregret ko sa buhay ko, eh yung time na may nakita akong friend ko na sinisindak ng bully, tas pinanood ko lang. Sana i stood up for him.

If we just live our lives in a righteous way, dreams will come...It's not about dreaming, it's how we wanted it. Ayt!
