Sunday UPdate

Sunday, March 6. 2011. Every once in a while we go back where it feels like home. Old school.Mother soul.

Katipunan.  The lines that divide heaven and earth.

After hearing mass at the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice, we went straight to Mang Larry's Isawan, but the lines were long. We decided to dine at Chocolate Kiss Cafe first.

Few things have changed. Same waiters. Same menu. Same old interior. "Chokiss" can be found in Ang Bahay ng Alumni.

Slurp. "Look, they have breakfast buffets. Let's try this one time. "Chokiss iced tea is a best seller. Celebrities dine here too. Just opposite our table were Kara David and her daughter.

The sinful Devil's Food Cake no one can resist. They gave us the smallest slice of the cake, though.

I like my iced tea with lots of this "green thing with small  pores."

Gamberi. Hot! Sauteed shrimps with garlic, lemon juice, green chili, and olive oil. Served with spaghetti and topped with Parmesan cheese. P248. It tastes good, put a lot of Parmesan cheese and try  not to think about how much it costs.
Going back to  Mang Larry's Isawan. There were no long lines anymore, just us. Mang Larry,  asenso na. New food cart., new TV, new paved grounds, and a new led display signage.  Overheard: Mang Larry's children study at The Ateneo. Wow sosyal :)

On Chips Delight

When it comes to chocolate chip cookies, Sweet Pea and Panda choose Chips Delight. For us, only Chips Delight will do.

It was back in 2009 when I first learned about Chips Delight. Sweet Pea bought it as dessert for a dinner she made for us. I was skeptic at first because I was so used to Chips Ahoy and Soft Batch. But after we finished our first pack of Chips Delight, I never looked back. Like Sweet Pea, it also became my favorite.

Believe it or not, Chips Delight saved us from hunger and fatigue when we climbed Mt. Pulag back in 2009. It gave us the extra boost we needed to climb the peak of the highest mountain in Luzon. You can read more about our Mt. Pulag expedition here. We would not have made it without Chips Delight.

What we like about Chips Delight is its consistency and texture. It's not too soft nor too crumby. It's sweet and yummy every bite. What sets Chips Delight apart from other choco chip cookies is that it is cheaper and crunchier. Sweet Pea and I particularly love the Striped Chocolate variant.

Chips delight is our staple cookie. No choco chip cookie comes closer. We definitely recommend it.

Our First Running Race

Sunday, February 20, 2011, 4:30 a.m. Sweet Pea and I woke up early to join hundreds of participants for TwoForTaft, a benefit fun run for the victims of last year's Taft salubong blast.
